After eight successful years in the Old City, Blue Cats entertainment venue and its sister organizations Tonic and Fiction will be closing their doors. All companies will be moved less than a mile down the road to the new Warehouse District, a complex that is home to The Valarium and 60,000 square feet of additional entertainment space.
“This is a project we are very excited about”, explains Gary Mitchell co-owner of the companies, “what we are creating will completely revolutionize entertainment in Knoxville, we will have better, more impressive venues, the ability to attract more national acts, and a facility where people of all ages can enjoy great music in a pleasant environment”.
The Valarium entertainment venue is a newly renovated property located in the new Warehouse District on the corner of Blackstock and Western Avenues. Next door to The Valarium are two warehouses formerly occupied by the Bradens Furniture companies, where Blue Cats will reside after the move.
The Valarium opened its doors last fall and has already seen multiple sold out shows and plan to have many more in the next few months. All shows that were scheduled at Blue Cats will be held in The Valarium during the renovation and moving process. All pre-purchased tickets will be honored at the new location.
